Lab Grown Imitation Aquamarine

An Imitation Lab-Grown Aquamarine (often called a "simulant") is a material that mimics the appearance of aquamarine but does not share its chemical or physical properties. While a "synthetic" aquamarine is real beryl grown in a lab, an "imitation" is typically a different, more affordable crystal or glass-ceramic designed to achieve the perfect "sea-foam" blue color.
We use the most common high-quality imitation: Synthetic Blue Spinel, It is chemically a spinel (MgAl2O4) but is grown to match the aquamarine hue. It is actually harder and tougher than real aquamarine.
